Leadership & Legacy

Lived experience, legal training, and the faith-filled legacy of Ruby Grant Williams shape a team that knows the system from the inside and stands with people as they rebuild.

Seychell Williams

Founder & Lead Advocate
As a formerly incarcerated leader, paralegal, and the first formerly incarcerated plant manager for Virginia Correctional Enterprises, Seychell guides all advocacy, reentry, and education work for The Ruby Grant Project.

Her journey between incarceration and institutional leadership allows her to translate policies into real options for families, mentor people preparing to come home, and speak with credibility in correctional and community spaces. Recognized on the National Correctional Industries Association 2026 Honor Roll, she serves as a bridge between those directly impacted and those with the power to change systems.

Ruby Grant Williams

Namesake & Spiritual Inspiration

The late Ruby Grant Williams was a respected evangelist across Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., recognized for her faith, strength, and service to others.

Her ministry reached directly inside correctional facilities, where she spent years offering spiritual counsel, encouragement, and dignity to incarcerated men and women. Her steadfast belief in justice, redemption, and direct community support serves as the foundation of our organization. We carry forward her legacy by working to restore lives and strengthen communities across the Commonwealth. Changing systems. Changing lives.
